Clos de Chacras

This charming boutique family operation has been handed down the generations (with a slight gap) moving from mass wine production to higher quality, well structured red wines. They make a fantastic Cabernet Sauvignon and their structured wines are certainly something to mull over as you sit by the carp filled pond in the sunshine.

The winery is fascinating to visit as you can see all the enormous old, cement wine vats which have been converted into cellars, as well as their more modern approach with smaller cement wine vats.

Attractively tucked away in a vineyard, the pink bodega is a five minute walk from Chacras plaza, and only 20 minutes from Mendoza city centre. Stay for one of their lunches, and call ahead to check if they are open for dinner.
