Familia Zuccardi
Zuccardi is a professional, far-sighted operation which excels on many levels. The large winery has an enormous output but also channels its energy in some admirable innovation and experimentation. This was one of the first wineries to master a late harvest white wine, it has an 'Innovation' line with different cross-clones of wines from around the globe and made its name for having the first premium Tempranillo in the country.
Enthusiastic and knowledgable guides take you through the winery and end up with a tasting in their barrel room-cum-modern art gallery which has some wonderful local art, and some great local wines too: the Zuccardi Q Tempranillo and Chardonnay come particularly recommended.
Set apart from the winery, amongst the vineyards is the 'Visitor´s Centre' which houses an attractive restaurant famous for its asado-style lunches and generous wine pourings. You can also indulge in a cooking class with the chefs in the kitchen, as well as stepping out to their olive oil factory and have a go at making your own bottle of premium aciete de oliva.
